Wish List for 2012

I feel like I kind of skipped on the New Years Resolutions this year and should get some goals written down. So here goes:

1. Grow my hair longer. Kind of a silly one but I've been wanting long hair since I donated my hair 4 years ago and every time it gets slightly long, I cut it off. That's not going to happen this year. I want my hair to look like this (except the blond)

GORGEOUS. I don't know about you, but I'm a little obsessed with waterfall braids lately.

2. Get a new job. Preferably one that is full time or close to. Believe it or not, being a grocery store checker was not my dream as a child. I want to be able to support myself through college and that's never going to happen on a checker's paycheck. Plus I would love anything that doesn't require me standing on my feet all day. So if anybody knows anything, call me.

3. Find this scarf. You know my obsession with leopard and scarves. This satisfies both. LOVES IT!!!

4. Start college. Let's be open, I've been putting this off as much as possible. The fact is, college is not going away, I'm not getting any younger, and I really don't want to be stuck working a minimum wage job all my life. I need to move on. Plus I should try the social interaction, I'm getting a little rusty on that.

5. Take a picture everyday. I've seen this on a couple of people's blogs and I got a new camera for Christmas. I don't know what's been holding me up but I really want to start this. So here's today picture:

Lame I know, but I have to be at work in 6 minutes

A Little Update of One of the Best Nights...

So, since I took a 6 hour (yep 6 hour) nap this afternoon and let's face it, I'm never sleeping again, I figgered I'd tell you about my night last night. For Christmas/My birthday, Jake bought me some tickets to a Jazz game. He bought them after I begged him to for like 2 weeks. If you know me, it's a little weird that I would beg someone to take me to a sporting event, sports just aren't my thing. At all. But for whatever reason (aka the amazingly hot players) I love the Jazz.
The plan was originally that we would leave at 4:00 and have plenty of time to get to Salt Lake and watch the game at 7. Then I looked up the times that the Frontrunner went and we decided to shoot for the one that left Ogden at 4:16. I thought this would be no problem. Then the snow came. For the record, I hated snow looong before yesterday but I hate it even more now. We managed to leave town at 3:45ish which in the crappy winter weather and my ghetto Toyota was pushing it. We got about three miles away from the house when Jake asked me if I got the tickets. It's a good thing he did because... I had totally spaced it. We turn back around and as we do my mom calls. She was offering to let us take her car with 4 wheel drive. I wasn't one to object. So we head home and on the way decide there is no way that we are going to make the 4:16 train and will leave on the 5:16 one instead.
Everything went fine on the way to the station. We get to the station, it is snowing/raining, I'm trying my best to preserve my hair. I rarely do my hair nicely and when I do it seems like there's always bad weather to try and destroy it, let's just say my umbrella was my bff last night. After getting out of the car, I head over to the little station that you buy the tickets from. By the time I get to the ticket station, my pants are soaked almost to my knees and my shoes have a lake inside them (On a side note, never ever wear Converses, or in my case mock Converses, in a rain/snow storm. Bad, bad idea.) Cursing the horrible weather, I wait while Jake buys his ticket and I get ready to buy mine. Cue insane ticket Nazi man. He freaks out when he finds out that Jake and I are traveling together and bought our tickets separately. Apparently we could have payed $13.50 for a group pass instead of the $9.50 we paid each. I admit wholeheartedly that this sucks but we had already bought Jake's ticket so there wasn't much we could do. It didn't stop this man from being thoroughly mad at us. So you can see why I would be a little bit stressed and trying to just get my ticket and get on the train. It shouldn't be a problem, I have cash, I've selected my destination, I go to put my $10 bill in the machine... and it won't take it. Stupid weather. I had taken the bill out of my purse while Jake was buying his ticket and in the time it took me to select my ticket, it had gotten completely soaked.
I'm freaking out because the only other cash I have on me is a couple of ones. We decide to head over to the bus station to see if I can trade my crappy ten for a nice crisp one. This sounds like a reasonable solution, the bus station is very close. Lies, they have a buttload of fences that make you walk all sorts of different directions in the cold and the rain and the slush. Finally, after trudging through that nastiness we get to the bus station. It's closed. What the heck?! Who closes a bus station on a Saturday afternoon. Lame, lame lame! As I'm slowing realizing that my dream of seeing the Jazz could very well be unrealistic, Jake "suddenly" remembers that he just happens to have 10 one dollar bills. Thanks Jake, for making me walk all the way in the frigid cold to the bus station.
We rush back over to the ticket station, I buy my ticket, taking forever with the one dollar bills, (I even had the train lady come and ask me if she could help)causing quite a lineup behind me, and run to the safety of the train. We manage to find a seat by ourselves with a little table.
Fast forward 3 train stops. Train is very cramped and noisy. I've spent the past half hour listening to some guy across the aisle talk about the Jazz nonstop like he's part of the team. I about punched him in the face when he started making fun of Hayward. Lots of people get on the train including a woman with her millions of kids. Really I think there was only three but it seemed like a lot at the time. She asks to sit next to us and since I can't really say no, I let her. This whole time, Jake has been texting his gf and I've just kind of been sitting there listening to a 5 year old down the train telling your mommma jokes and laughing to myself. I then get a text from my dad and answer it. I look up and see the million kids lady glaring at me. She then asks if Jake and I are really texting each other across the table. Like it's her business if we even are! I reply no, and try to avoid eye contact for the rest of the ride.
We get to Salt Lake and the Delta Center (I know it's the Energy Solutions Arena, but really that takes too long to type and it will always be the Delta Center to me.) Get a few snacks, btw pretzel bites aren't that great from there, and sit down in our seats. CLEAR up in the balcony. I start to feel my head spin as I realize how far up I really am. I try not to concentrate on that fact. Then the players come out and I really don't care how far up I am. This is what I came here for.
I know this post should mostly be about the game but I don't really know how to describe that part. It was pretty sweet. There was a lot of action. The Jazz won. I got to listen to the drunk guy behind me yell at the refs with slurred speech. I got to watch the drunk people in front of my dance to Enrique and LMFAO. Needless to say, I was not void of entertainment.
After the game, we walked to the Trax station to get to the Frontrunner station. Holy insanity. I've never seen so many people packed into a little Trax car. My claustrophobia was at an all time high and my whole fear of people touching me was screwed. We had no choice but to get on or else I wouldn't have. Luckily the ride was only a couple of blocks. Then we got to the Frontrunner, and it was like Black Friday. I had to run through the slush to get us a seat. Me, running, plus slush don't make such a hot couple. Luckily, there were no accidents and I managed to snag two empty seats. The ride home was pretty uneventful, Jake fell asleep and started whimpering and I tried not to fall asleep.
To wrap this all up I think we need a little Hayward time. As Jake said 20 times last night "Just look at those shoulders"

And here's me b-b-balling

All About Me

I figured for my birthday I would do something a little different and fun so here's 19 facts for you on my 19th birthday on the 19th of January. (The planets aligned for this one.)

1. Favorite color: Lime green

2. Hobbies: crocheting, decorating, reality tv, listening to music

3. Weird Phobias: spiders (not that weird), rotten food, taking showers at night (I think watching Psycho when I was 5 ruined me)

4.Guilty Pleasure: So many... probably all my reality tv fixes and tabloids

5. Pets: Aspen Roo, Keya, Miss T aka T-Pain aka Rafiki

6. If you could go back in time, what would you change: I would try to be a little bit more social so I wouldn't be the little hermit I am now.

7. One unique characteristic: My ability to make any sentence into a Your Mom joke.

8. First attribute you notice: Smile and eyes, plus I have a bit of a nose obsession.

9. Favorite subject: Math and Interior Design

10. Worst part of high school: Waking up early

11. Best part of high school: Hanging out with friends

12. If you could go back to 7th grade for a day would you: Definitely, there's so much I would tell myself back then, not that I would listen because I've always been stubborn and I would have thought I was right.

13. Country you'd most like to visit: France! I'm dying to go and visit the Eiffel Tower and Versailles. Italy would be pretty sweet.

14. Favorite sport: Don't really have one but I'll go with basketball because I'm going to a Jazz game on Saturday and really can't wait.

15. If you could work with any celebrity, who would it be: Well, if we're talking dead celebs, I would have to say Audrey Hepburn because I think she's so inspiring and was truly a good person. Alive, I'm going to have to go with either Harrison Ford or Bill Pullman because they're both such studs. Or Taylor Lautner because deep down there's a teenage girl with a huge crush fighting to get out inside of me.

16. What TV Character are you most like: I would have to say that I'm a mixture between Veronica Mars and Khloe Kardashian. Veronica has been my hero for a few years, I just found out how similar me and Khloe are.

17. If you could date any celebrity who would it be: Besides the three mentioned on 15, we're gonna go with Matthew Lewis. Dang did Neville make a comeback.

18. Pet Peeves: Old people driving slow, old people yelling at me. Pretty much old people in general, I love some of them but 99 percent just make me mad.

19. Favorite Food: Salmon and Crab

I tried to find a few unique questions, hope you enjoy this Me-fest. It might seem over the top but I figger (yes figger) that it's my birthday and I can do stuff like that.

And My Loves Continue...

Ok, how did I forget that Bill Pullman was in Newsies. I don't think I totally forgot but it was a pleasant surprise when I tivo'd this classic and found my man Bill in it. Love him. King of New York, possibly the best musical number in any musical. Don't even get me started on Bill in While You Were Sleeping. Seriously, just look at him.

Stud.
On a slightly more serious note, I reread The Giver today. I read this book in like 8th grade. Absolutely hated it. A few days ago, I decided it was time to give it another shot. I actually enjoyed it this time. Besides the whole creepy Releasing parts and the less than satisfying ending, it was really good. Plus it was only 180 pages. I love short books like that, they hold my short attention span so much easier. If you're wondering what the cover looks like, this is it.

So, I'm downstairs watching Newsies right now and my mom calls me upstairs. I go, and she's standing there with an early birthday present... Leopard balloons! Holla! Seriously just made my night. Oh how I love anything leopard. My mom knew this and got them in Idaho Falls while she and my dad were there this weekend, they just went to Kent's and had them blown up. I'm very thankful for her remembering me and bringing those balloons all that way just so I could have a happy birthday.

I designed this at Converse.com

So today I woke up feeling like complete crap and of course I was scheduled to work a 6 hour shift. Luckily, one of my coworkers was able to take 4 hours of my shift and I came home early. Pretty much I took a 4 hour nap and then woke up and thought of anything to do that wouldn't require me getting out of bed. In case you're wondering, that includes watching a buttload of the Office on Netflix and then Facebook stalking. After that got boring, I did something I've wanted to for a while. I designed the perfect sneakers for me. Leopard with lime green! Seriously in love with these bad boys. The past couple of days I've been thinking a lot about my birthday that's on Thursday. I kind of want to get myself a nice gift that I will remember since it's my golden birthday. I've debated a Tiffany's necklace and then other pieces of jewelry. I'm thinking now that these little beautes, are at the top of the list. Loves them!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Holy snap! I swore I just updated this like yesterday. Apparently not. Anywho, to summarize the past few months, I feel it's appropriate to write a list of my favorite things. So here goes, in no particular order.

1. My Snuggie-(insert lame infomercial here) I'm seriously in love with this baby. What could be better than a blanket with sleeves for a person that freezes in 90 degree weather.

2. Leopard print-I can't really explain this love. I think it all started with one of my guilty obsessions. Which I guess leads us number 3.

3. Teen Mom 2- Honestly, not sure why I love this show. I can't stand Kailyn or Janelle, but still I watch it every week. What does this show have to do with leopard print? Chelsea is obsessed with it and had leopard decals on her wall. I loved it. Speaking of walls...

4. My bedroom- Friday night I literally spent 5 hours cleaning and organizing my room. I'm pretty much determined to keep it nice and pretty. I even got storage bins to keep things in order. That's how serious I am. :)

5. The Bachelor- Oh baby, where do I begin with this one? So, I think I've been watching this show since I was like 9. Dedication. I don't know why I keep watching this one. I'm anti-chick flicks and I hate romantic things but man, am I addicted. Def my biggest guilty pleasure.

6. Sudoku- Nerd Alert! Yeah, I got hooked on it again. The other night I found a site that has free puzzles with a timer and everything. I accidentally played until 3 am. Whoops.

7. Country Time Lemonade- This one all started when I made a New Years Resolution to not drink pop for the year. And Kent's having a sale on 20 oz bottles 3 for a dollar. I was hooked.

8.Youtube room tour videos- I'm seriously debating going to school to study Interior Design and these babies are like my crack. I don't know why but I just can't give up my dream of being an interior designer and I love everything about houses and buildings and personalizing them to make them your own.

9. Yes to Cucumber face wipes- Found out about these puppies while watching aforementioned room tour. I was curious so I did my research about these and all the reviews from people talked about how they have dry skin and these helped moisturize. I don't know about you, but I have terribly dry skin and I was willing to give it a shot. I was skeptical because they're all natural and made with plant extracts. I'm allergic to almost every plant known to man but so far, I haven't had a reaction and my face is super soft, I've been using them about a week and they take makeup off wonderfully.

10.My DSLR- I was so lucky this year that my parents bought me a DSLR for a joint Christmas and birthday present. Honestly, if you don't have one, I suggest getting one. They capture moments so flawlessly and it takes almost no skill to use them. Even on the automatic setting it takes amazing pictures. Mine is Nikon D3100 and I love it almost as much as I love Clark Gable (aka a buttload)

11. Awkward Family Pet Photos- All I have to say is if you haven't seen these, go to the website right now. RIGHT NOW!!

I think that's all, or at least all I feel like admitting to loving :)
